Innovation Manchester Tweets & News

Innovation Manchester is now on Twitter, and it’s working pretty well so far! We’re using the account principally to catch news of Innovation activity in Manchester, and it’s throwing up some interesting results…

This week on Twitter there’s been the news of Greater Manchester businesses winning Queens Awards for Enterprise, including Trafford based M&I Materials Ltd and Wigan based atgUV Technology, also Rochdale based WCCTV won and innovation award for the development of Wireless surveillance systems.

Manchester Rusk Company also took 2 different prestigious European Business Awards in Rome recently.  Today the InnovationMcr Twitter feed spread news of the NWDA’s investment of a further 9.5m into Manchester’s pioneering Biomedical Research Centre and yesterday we had news from Design Week about NESTA’s creative innovation voucher scheme.

Of course, we also picked up all the Budget news including Manchester and Leeds selection as the first new-style city regions, gaining more control over local spending and programmes for housing, regeneration, skills and innovation.
