Malcolm Gladwell *isn’t stoned* at the Science of Success

Posted on: September 15, 2009

I’m here at the excellent Science of Success day with my good friends from Northwest Business Insider. Michael and David continue to. offer great opportunities for genuine inspiration.
Gladwell is using the story of Fleetwood Mac to explain what makes a group successful. Sadly, he says, due to fire codes he is unable to bring a giant bong onto the stage to get us all into the mood. Gladwell tells us what we all already know, that hard work is important to acheive great results. Gladwell is more specific than that however, in proposing that behind any kind of creative breakthough, there is about 10000 hours, or ten years, of hard work.
With great humour and charisma, Gladwell reminds us to stay strong and persevere, because REAL success is never instant, and that attitude is as important as talent.
