Seal of awesomeness

Seal of awesomeness

We have been reading a brilliant article by Umair Haque who believes that innovation is dead as should be replaced by……wait for it Awesomeness.

Let’s face it. “Innovation” feels like a relic of the industrial era. And it just might be the case that instead of chasing innovation, we should be innovating innovation

He believes that

1.Innovation relies on obsolescence and thus the price of innovation is recession and depression.

2.Innovation dries up the seedcorn and therefore we concentrate on reselling the existing rather than creating the new .

3.Innovation doesn’t always do what it says on the tin.Take financial innovation which caused destruction to the economy this time last year.

Instead innovation should be replaced by awesomeness which will include ethical production, focus on creativity, create thick value that is real, meaningful, and sustainable and most of all as the author puts it concentrate on

Love for what we do which is the basis of all real value creation.
