Sustainable Sheep in Stockport

Posted on: October 1, 2009

At our Innovation Manchester event in March, the consensus was that the growth of innovation should be based on the core values that have made us what we are: Ethical; Radical; Sustainable.

In Greater Manchester today, an innovative new service launches in Stockport which exemplifies this type of work.  GM company 3 Sheep Ltd. will launch a new mobile and web service for local charity The Furniture Station. The service will allow a3 sheep mobile appgencies to refer clients in need of the charity’s furniture services directly in real-time using mobile devices such as the iPhone. The design and development of the system uses technology and techniques developed by 3 Sheep’s founder Stuart Smith. His work in new mobile technologies has been recognised with an International Innovation Award.

The system will be launched today at an event attended by Mayor of Stockport, Cllr. Pam King. The innovation will result in better use of the charity’s time, money and resources, and of course the more furniture that is reused and recycled, the better for the environment on so many levels.
